Test # 1 – The Itch Test

Do you have an itchy scalp, itchy eyes, and itchy patches, anywhere in or on your body? Do your ears need a good scratch on the inside? Do your feet or toes itch? Write down when you need to scratch ANY part of your body and when. You will be amazed at how often you touch your body without even being aware, particularly if you have a candida problem and are itchy. You become so used to itching your body that you actually become totally unaware of its presence. Does your anus itch? Do your feet or hands itch? Look for recurrent itching anywhere and record them for two days.

The lady in this picture has a typical candida skin itch which may be diagnosed as something like “eczema” or even “psoriasis” by some practitioners. Skillful questioning and case taking by the practitioner will elicit a more accurate diagnosis of candida yeast infection, particularly in cases in which the patient has not only an itchy skin and possibly a visible red rash, but in addition there may be other symptoms such as sweet cravings, toe nail fungus and a vaginal irritation. As usual, look at the entire picture. Do you have several symptoms indicative of a candida infection? Itching skin is a classic symptom, and can be often genital, hands, feet, scalp, around the ears or in any warm, moist and dark place of the body, these are the favorite “hideouts” of candida.

Test # 2 – The Craving Test

Become more aware of what you eat, but particularly what you LIKE to eat, how often and when. Those with a yeast infection, and especially a fungal overgrowth in their digestive tract may well crave sweet foods without even knowing it. Do you want something sweet routinely after your evening meal? Do you want something sweet between meals? We could even be referring to breads (especially the white refined supermarket variety) biscuits or cookies (any – they all contain sugar), chocolate bars (that small one you get when you fill your car), that sugar you put into your coffee several times a day, that donut you have a few times per week. Many of us enjoy a sweet treat now and again, but what we may be blissfully unaware of is that we are feeding a lot more than just ourselves – we are feeding a yeast population inside of screaming for food and attention.

People say; “I don’t eat any sugar!” or : “I don’t have sugar in my coffee or tea” but then an hour later they have a cookie, or a soda drink, muesli bar or even a fruit drink which all contain sugar. These folk may even have a glass of wine or can of beer each night yet they “don’t have any added sugar” in their diet.

In the year 1900, the average person consumed less than two pounds of sugar in one year. And today, the average person consumes more than one and a half times their body weight in sugar. Is it any wonder we have a proliferation of these candida yeast bugs in our digestive systems? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that we are busy feeding these bugs up several times a day.

Try this trick, eat NO sweet foods for three days and see how you feel. I am not talking about fruits and vegetables, but do avoid citrus like oranges and mandarins. Just keep away from these sugars or any foods or drinks containing them for three days: sugar and other quick-acting carbohydrates including sucrose, high-glucose corn syrup, fructose, maltose, lactose, glycogen, glucose, mannitol, sorbitol, and galactose. Also avoid honey, molasses, maple syrup, maple sugar, and date sugar. Look at labels and packaging and STOP these foods for 72 hours.

Did you crash, develop a headache; feel tired or funny in any way? Then you were too dependent on sugar and may have an addiction here. This test will make a real candida sufferer feel terrible, they may literally feel like “climbing the wall” to get to their sugar fix on the other side. (Use Stevia instead of refined sugar)

Three days is all you need, but you have to be very strict and just focus on fresh vegetables, meats, whole grains, nuts, seeds and water. In Chinese medicine they say that a person either likes sweet or likes bitter foods, if you love sweet foods you are less inclined to like bitter and the other way around. Here is a partial list of bitter foods and drinks; artichokes, bitter melon, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, chicory, chard, chayotes, courgettes, cress, cucumbers dandelion, endive, leaves of rhubarb,  lettuce, melons, most mushrooms, mustard greens, olive oil, pak choi, pumpkins,   radicchio, rocket, rutabaga, tender leaves of Milk Thisle, thistles, tomatoes, uncured olives, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, natural beer, silverbeet sugar free chocolate, some dark wines, juniper gentian spirit and coffee( without sugar), dandelion root coffee or tea, Swedish bitters or bitter herbal medicines like gymnema, gentian or any of the liver or gall bladders herbal medicines are also good to take for a few weeks. The more bitter foods you become to like the less sweet foods you will begin crave. Bitter foods help liver and gallbladder to function optimally. You will excrete more waste and toxins, burn more fat and kill more bad bugs in your digestive system as well.

Test # 3 – The Spit Test

 Most of the people will have a positive test, and in itself it is not a proof of anything.

First thing in the morning rinse your mouth several times, before you put anything in your mouth, get a clear glass fill with water and work up a bit of saliva, then spit it into the glass of water.  Check the water every 15 minutes or so for up to one hour. If you have a problem with yeast, you will see strings (like legs) travelling down into the water from the saliva floating on the top, or “cloudy” saliva will sink to the bottom of the glass, or cloudy specks will seem to be suspended in the water.   If there are no strings and the saliva is still floating after at least one hour, you may well have no yeast problem. But do make sure you eat NOTHING before you do the spit test or you will not get the results you are looking for. If “spider webs” develop very quickly the probability of infection is much higher.

Test # 4 – The Smell Test

Do you have a bad smelling feet or shoes? Check your tongue in the mirror, is it always coated and your breath offensive? Poor smelling feet, armpits and bad body odor in general tells you have a bad bacterial population in your digestive system as well as the around the periphery (the skin) of your body. This could be a key sign of dysbiosis or bacterial overgrowth in the small and large intestinal tract. Your breath should not smell “putrid” like the bottom of a bird cage in the morning, it should not be offensive.

You may have gum disease, but if your teeth and gums are fine then you may well have a bacterial or a yeast infection issue somewhere in your digestive system.

If you have lots of gas, burping, bloating and digestive discomfort you are probably fermenting bugs in your gut and producing gas as a byproduct.

Healthy people with great digestive systems and proper bowel flora generally have a clean pinkish tongue), their breath is sweet smelling and they rarely have a bloating or gas problem. Do not mix fruit with any other food, always eat it on an empty stomach.

 Hundreds of patients with bowel cancer suffered from gas, bloating, irregular bowel motions at times, and paid little to no attention for many years to the trivial digestive complaints we all get from time to time. But in retrospect, they’d wished they had paid more attention to these signs and symptoms of an impending problem. And then one day they passed a bit of blood and the diagnosis quickly followed. It’s a shame that many don’t value real health…until they have a lack of it. And then it’s often too late.

The results should be dramatic.

Lufenuron can cure vaginal yeast, oral Candida, Candida rashes and intestinal Candidiasis. More serious semi-systemic or systemic Candidiasis may need multiple treatments and are at least temporarily improved. Candida is so hard to kill because roughly half of its cell wall is made of the extremely hard Chitin. The other half is Ergosterol. Chitin is the same material as the exo-skeleton of insects like fleas and intestinal parasites. It’s hard to crush a flea because its Chitin armor is so strong. We have no use for Chitin in our bodies. But a fungus deprived of Chitin dies, because the Chitin literally prevents it from “bleeding out” through holes in the cell wall.

There exist other Chitin-blockers, but Lufenuron is uniquely non-toxic.

Candizyme  contains cellulase and hemicelluse that eats the biofilm and cell wall.  Protease to eat the polypeptides and nucleus and the starch eating enzymes lysozyme, amylase, lactase, malt diastase and glucoamylase to help with the polysaccharides in the biofilm. This is a pretty good formula for breaking through the biofilm and eating the cell wall of candida yeast. However, Candizyme lacks an enzyme that eats the fibrinogen in the biofilm, so it is also incomplete.

Take it with SerraEnzyme (or similar brand Serrapeptase) so you have an enzyme that will eat the fibrinogen in the biofilm. 

If you added acidophilus-bifidus probiotic you would have a very good candida yeast killing combination. I would take one or two capsules every time I took any of the enzymes above.

BioFase enzymes for yeast is very similar to all the above enzyme formulas. It contains cellulase and hemicellase to eat the plant component in the biofilm and yeast cell. Glucoamylase, amylase and invertase to eat the polysaccharides in the biofilm and protease to eat the polypeptides of the biofilm and nucleus of the yeast cell. BioFase also includes a serrapeptase enzyme that eats the fibrinogen of the biofilm making it a complete yeast eating enzyme. While die-off reactions usually do not occur with these enzymes for yeast infection, a few people may experience nausea, a “burning sensation” in the stomach, or abdominal cramping. This is because the enzymes may aggravate pre-existing disturbances in the GI tract. If this occurs, I suggest using one third of a capsule, twice daily, emptied into eight ounces of warm water, and building up from there. To avoid this problem to start with take one capsule your first day, two your second day, and so on, until you reach the full, three capsule two times per day regimen.

Candida is a yeast which grows inside all of the population, 35 % of people have some kind of yeast infection at any given time. During a lifetime, 80 percent of all women are likely to have at least one vaginal Candida infection, and up to 50 % have two or more.

 Lately, Candida infections have been reaching epidemic proportions. I suspect weakened immune system, among many other things, as the main culprit.

The genus Candida includes around 155 species. Among these, six are most frequently isolated in human infections. While Candida albicans is the most abundant and significant species, Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis, Candida krusei, and Candida lusitaniae are also isolated as causative agents of Candida infections. Importantly, there has been a recent increase in infections due to non-albicans Candida, such as Candida glabrata and Candida krusei.

Candida overgrowth (candida albicans) can lead to candida yeast infection and Leaky Gut Syndrome which is medically referred to as intestinal permeability. Leaky gut is a major gastrointestinal disorder that occurs when openings develop in the gut wall. These tiny holes can be created when candida overgrowth moves to a more serious stage of candida yeast infection and the candida yeast grows roots or hypha (plural hyphae) which is a long, branching filamentous cell of a fungus. This fungal growth is a more advanced stage of development in the candida albicans yeast infection. The hyphae spreads the bowel wall cells apart so that acidic, harmful microorganisms and macromolecules are then able to pass through (leak) these openings and enter the circulatory system. Thus the name Leaky Gut. The body is alerted to the invader and creates antibodies for protection, activates the immune system, and thus is born a food allergy. Food allergies are directly linked to leaky gut and candida yeast infection overgrowth.

As a result, leaky gut syndrome and candida yeast infection can directly lead to many other systemic inflammatory and immune-related symptoms beyond food allergies, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, multiple sclerosis, eczema, fibromyalgia, Crohn’s disease, Raynaud’s phenomenon, chronic urticaria (hives), and inflammatory bowel disease. These are all generally referred to as conditions of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Thus candida yeast infection and candida overgrowth is related to IBS in all its forms. Major signs and symptoms of leaky gut syndrome include:

  • Facial swelling upon exposure to strong smells
  • Bloating, gas, and cramps immediately after eating
  • Alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea
  • Headaches
  • Food Allergies
  • Irritability
  • Lack of concentration

Inflammation of the gut lining, often involving candida yeast overgrowth; it is the primary symptom of leaky gut syndrome and IBS. The originating cause may be Rx drug use and antibiotics which kill off healthy probiotic flora. Gut inflammation, from candida yeast infection, is usually instigated by one or several of the following factors:

  • Prescription hormones (e.g., birth control pills and/or hormone replacement therapy) and prescription corticosteroids (e.g., hydrocortisone).
  • Excessive use of antibiotics which kills off health bacteria, causing dysbiosis, candida overgrowth and candida yeast infection.
  • Processed foods, as well as foods and beverages contaminated by parasites, fungus, and/or mold which promote the growth of candida yeast infection.
  • Increased amounts of refined carbohydrates (e.g., candy bars, cookies, cake, soft drinks, and white bread) which also promote the growth of candida yeast overgrowth and dysbiosis.
  • Increased alcohol and caffeine consumption. Remember that alcohol is a natural result of yeast overgrowth and sugar.

·         About 80% of the time, candida yeast infections occur when medicines, primarily antibiotics, including birth control pills and other drugs, kill the friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract.

·         Approximately 10% of the time candida overgrowth is caused by long term exposure to candida and its spores from your family or spouse. It can be transmitted orally through food sharing, kissing, or similar activities, and candida spores can be breathed in.

·         About 10% of candida overgrowth cases happen when babies pick it up from their mothers when they are born. At birth babies have no immune system and little to no friendly bacteria, so exposure to candida from their mother always results in overgrowth. The bad news is that candida overgrowth has grown to epidemic proportions after several generations of antibiotic use — leading to a large increase in the amount of mothers with candida infecting their child at birth. This combined with the ever increasing amount of vaccines being given infants, may be fueling the epidemic of autism that our children are suffering.

Italian oncologist (a cancer doctor), Tullio Simoncini, has long been an advocate of the fungal hypothesis in regards to cancer.

Cancer specialists know for a long while that fungi is always present in cancer. They say; when area is affected by cancer, cells are weakened and fungi moves in. Dr.Simoncini states exactly the opposite; fungi invades the healthy cells first and that causes cancer.

Dr.Simoncini:”I have treated hundreds of patients. Most of them had extremely advanced cancer, especially after having been subjected to conventional therapies. Many of them made a complete recovery and are still alive and well years after the treatment. In the cases of cancers caught early (lumps smaller than 3cm, with minimal incidence of metastasis) 90% of patients have made a recovery. The basic concept of my therapy is the (intravenous) administration of a solution with a high content of sodium bicarbonate directly onto tumors. These are susceptible to regression only if one destroys the fungal colonies.


Women are particularly more susceptible to Candidiasis. The list of signs and symptoms mentioned in various sources for Vaginal candidiasis includes the 18 symptoms listed below:


Candida truly is its own life form, being part vegetable, animal, and bacterial in nature. It is this ability to adapt and change form, or shape shift, that causes it to be so hard to eradicate from the human body. The cellular wall of fungi is composed of mannoproteins and chitin, which itself is composed of cellulose and hemicellulose. Chitin is vegetable in nature and what gives the cell its rigidity.

Roots of candida fungi are composed of one cell thick filaments that are often called hyphae, and are very similar to roots of plants, since fungi feed from these hyphae. These roots can puncture intestinal walls and organs in the human body creating leaky gut syndrome and other negative effects. Fungi feed through the hyphae. Spores they produce, by releasing exoenzymes into the surrounding substrate, they attach looking for glucose.

 In the case of vaginal candida albicans it becomes invasive by first puncturing the lining of the vaginal skin with the mycelial form with hyphae. If the food supply is good it begins to produce spores that can double its population in an hour. If the food supply is lean then it sends out more hyphae in search of food. Candida’s primary food source is simple carbohydrates which it uses to produce carbon so it can grow. Yeast most of the time lives within the intestinal environment of the human body and usually causes no problems. But due to various environmental and other factors, it switches to an invasive multicellular form known as candida, from a unicellular or yeast form, and begins to reproduce very rapidly. As it spreads it builds a biofilm, much like helicobacter pylori does, as a means of protection. These biofilms can range from 25 to 450 μm thick and begin to appear within the first 24 hours of colonization. One structure of invasive candida grows as a smooth white colony, and one grows as a rod like flat gray colony. This can be the same species of candida and it can switch between the phases as a method of adaptation. Another strain of candida known to undergo switching or as I like to say, shape shifting, produces seven different types of colonies.

Yeast can be either anaerobic or aerobic, and in the absence of oxygen they produce their energy by converting sugars into carbon dioxide and ethanol, and you wonder why you have brain fog? They can reproduce asexually or sexually, and during asexual reproduction the cell divides as a new bud to produce a new yeast cell. It clones itself, and has the ability to shape shift and take 7 different forms while rearranging chromosomes as an adaptive strategy to insure survival. No wonder it is so hard to get rid of!

Enzymes for yeast infection are safe for children and the recommended dose is one-half capsule, twice daily, for each 40 pounds of body weight. For ages 14 and up, adult recommendations may be followed.

Over a lifetime, the average person ingests more than 25 tons of food that provide the nutrients each of us needs to survive. Unfortunately, this food may also contain harmful bacteria, viruses, and toxins that can be damaging to the system.

When much of your friendly flora have been destroyed, and your immune system has weakened, the oxygen-loving candida yeast begin to flourish, morphing into anaerobic candida fungi. No longer needing an oxygen-rich blood supply, the fungi are able to exist anywhere in the body. Initially, these candida fungi are primarily in the intestinal tract. There, the toxic waste they chemically produce (acetylaldahyde, the same chemical that causes a hangover) Holes created by roots (hyphae) enable candida to travel throughout the body, over time establishing themselves systemically.

 The leaky gut also allows partially digested food to enter the bloodstream. This food is not able to be used by your cells, and your immune system must get rid of that food. Over time, people develop food allergies, a sure sign of candida overgrowth. Candida yeast loves sugar, excreting chemicals that cause you to crave sugars and all types of carbohydrates. Of course, as the yeast digests the food sugars before your body can use them, your cravings may be caused by low blood sugar levels.

During the nighttime, when you are fasting, the candida have plenty of time to be consuming your blood sugar. To compensate for this lack of sugar, your adrenals have to work extra hard, eventually leading to adrenal fatigue. (The acetylaldahyde also causes fatigue.) The thyroid gland is linked with the adrenal glands. As the adrenal glands wear down, the thyroid gland also starts to perform poorly, leading to decreased temperature regulation and low metabolism.

About 70% of all candida overgrowth occurs in women (if we consider the population of people over 15 years of age). As both men and women are equally exposed to antibiotics, this increase lies somewhat with the use of birth control pills, and primarily with candida’s fondness for progesterone.

Candida likes to eat progesterone.

Women often have flare-ups coinciding with their period (menstruation) — a time when progesterone levels are higher.

Herbs like Pau D’Arco, Olive Leaf Extract, Oregano Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract, and coconut-based aplitic acid, also do a good job of killing candida, but a poor job of eliminating candida yeast overgrowth for good.

Candida fungi can mutate to become immune to both anti-fungal herbs as well as anti-fungal drugs.

So, initially, after taking high doses of herbs, it may seem as though your candida infection is gone — when, in reality, it is not. Even if your blood can become free of candida, there will be candida hiding in tissues throughout your body. And candida sometimes will have formed dense masses which can’t be penetrated by these herbs.

Secondly, when you attack candida, it is stimulated to release spores. The production of candida spores is how fungi and mold reproduce. Candida tend to fight back when they are being attacked, assuring their survival by releasing spores, which can lodge anywhere in the body, awaiting just the right conditions to reactivate. They remain “dormant” so long as they sense the immune cells trying to attack. As spores, they tend to attract only a minor response from the immune system, dragging out the condition for years.

I recommend using Lufenuron, in combination with anti-candida enzymes and probiotics, once a year.



Candida Albicans is a fungal yeast.

Our gut is also full of natural bacteria that feed on the yeast and keep levels to a low number to stop it from becoming a problem.

The yeast becomes problematic when it grows beyond normal levels and spreads throughout the gastrointestinal tract, into the bloodstream and from there throughout the body.

Once it’s loose in your blood-stream, it is now a systemic infection the yeast then does something remarkable and changes into fungus… This fungus now settles itself into your tissue and a fungal colony quickly spreads.

The fungus wrecks havoc on your body, and excretes over 300 different mycotoxins into your blood stream as a result of its own digestive processes.

Systemic fungal infections (fungemias) including those by C. albicans have emerged as important causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients (e.g., AIDS, cancer chemotherapy, organ or bone marrow transplantat C. albicans biofilms may form on the surface of implantable medical devices. In addition, hospital-acquired infections by C. albicans have become a cause of major health concerns.

  • Oral thrush – “Thrush” is the common name for the mouth infection caused by Candida albicans. It is a superficial, sometimes recurrent infection that affects moist surfaces around the lips, inside the cheeks and on the tongue and palate. Oral thrush is generally not contagious.
  • Oesophageal thrush (Oesophagitis) – Oral thrush can spread to the oesophagus which is the connecting passage between the mouth and the stomach.
  • Cutaneous (skin) candidiasis – Candida can cause infections in areas of skin that are moist and receive insufficient ventilation. Some common sites include the nappy/diaper area (“nappy rash” or candidal dermatitis) in babies; the webs of fingers and toes; the groin and the crease of the buttocks; the skin under large breasts; and the fingernail beds.
